Sports in 2009

I just cannot understand this. I love sports. Let me be more specific: I enjoy sports because the competition is exhilarating, the hand-eye cordination involved, the teamwork and thrill of accomplishing something as a unit is great. But this I do not understand: Manny Ramirez, a great baseball player, is deciding, at least for now, he does not want to play baseball for $22.5 million dollars per year for the next two years. What is the reason, you ask? Because over $20 million dollars is not enough for him. WTF?

Sun Kil Moon

If you like somber tunes and tones, give Sun Kil Moon's album "April" a listen... it is really good. I discovered them at this really cool music website: http://www.hypem.com/. Hype machine. That is exactly what this website is; if you are in to music, listen to the newest (or older) hits from bands you know or don't know, and say if you like them or not. There are opportunites to download the songs or albums, but I prefer to use it as a jukebox, listening to the music as I visit the site. However, a few bands (Sun Kil Moon, Fleet Foxes) I listened to made me want to buy their cds, as well as opened my mind to acoustic-guitar-play that I did not know existed... yeah, that's how good I think those two bands are- so give them a listen if you already haven't.

In Rainbows.

The last two nights I have dosed off listening the album "In Rainbows" by Radiohead. If you have never listened to Radiohead, they are a unique asset to rock and have a great sound that most bands only try to mimic... at least that is my opinion.

The first song "15 Step" is awesome. It really starts the album off on a positive, upbeat mood. Other good tracks are "Nude", "House of Cards", and "Faust Arp", but it is best to just listen to the entire album from beginning to "Videotape" at the end.

The music playing in my ears sounded wonderful. New music is great... "In Rainbows".
