my 1st grade teacher...
with the alleged death of the king of pop michael jackson, my 1st grade teacher and friend on the social network facebook had the following to say on her page: "Always amazing to see the American journalism machine in action...some say dead, some say coma, some quote each other to avoid being wrong...and then there's Wolf playing MJ videos on CNN."
the rain song
some random internet-strangers' thoughts about my favorite zeppelin song...
It's so amazing how this song affects me. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but the second I heard it, my stomach tied to knots and i started tearing up. Something about this song makes me feel sad, yet touched, and sometimes nostalgic. It reminds me of a tune I've heard when I was younger, but I don't know what. There was a point where this song affected me so much, I could barely listen to it without breaking down too much. To other people, it's not even that sad. I think it's just a personal thing that not even I myself can decipher.
I'm a catholic teacher of religious education and I'd call myself religious. Anyway. Only God can make men write such great songs like this. This is my favorite song of all times and I'm sure, if satan will once have the chance to hear it, he will become an angel again! ;-)
Truely my favorite song of all times.....a masterpiece band. My regards to Page/Plant for giving such a gift to us all. (And to those who agree) There are not many tunes out there as perfect as this one!

Buddhism
We spend our lives being seduced by the outside world, believing without question that happiness and suffering come from "out there." In reality, Buddhist teachings explain that they come from the way we perceive and interpret things, not the things themselves. This deeply held misconception is at the root of our dissatisfaction, self-doubt, anger, depression, anxiety, and the rest. But our minds can change. By becoming deeply familiar with the workings of our own cognitive processes through introspection and learning to deconstruct them - truly, being our own therapists - we can loosen the grip of these neuroses and grow our marvelous potential for contentment, clarity, and courage, which are at the core of our being.

...all you need is love
There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game. It's easy.
Nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time. It's easy.
Nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be. It's easy

The Sopranos
From Episode 61 "Unidentified Black Males", Tony is finally realizing how coming clean to his cousin (Steve Buscemi), and why it was essentially his fault that he went to prison for 17 years, would serve beneficial to himself and his recurring panic attacks. The quote below is between him and his psychiatrist. Tony feels relieved after telling her the true story about him and his cousin. Instead of a universal analogy such as "weight off one's shoulders" or "monkey off one's back", Tony uses his own words to describe how medicating therapy can be...
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: It's (therapy) like taking a big shit.
Dr. Jennifer Melfi: Ok. I actually like to think about it as a childbirth.
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: Trust me. It's like taking a shit.

Shel Silverstein
Mr. Smeds and Mr. Spats
(from "A Light in the Attic")
Mr. Spats
Had twenty-one hats,
And none of them were the same.
And Mr. Smeds had twenty-one heads
And only one hat to his name.
Now, when Mr. Smeds
Met Mr. Spats,
They talked of the
Buying and selling of hats.
And Mr. Spats
Bought Mr. Smeds' hat!
Have you ever heard anything
As crazy as that?
