from "the tibetan book of living and dying"...

The key to finding a happy balance in modern lives is simplicity."

"I realized that there are things that every person is sent to Earth to realize and to learn. For instance, to share more love, to be more loving toward one another. To discover that the most important thing is human relationships and love and not materialistic things. And to realize that every single thing you do in your life is recorded and that even though you pass it by not thinking at the time, it always comes up later."

obama is not for communism or socialism

As so many Anti-healthcare reform, Obama-haters would like to tell you: "HE WANTS THE GOVERNMENT TO DECIDE YOUR HEALTH CARE!!! YOU WILL DIE QUICKER AND YOUR FAMILY WILL BE LEFT WITH A HUGE MONETARY BURDEN BECAUSE OF IT!!! HE MUST BE STOPPED!!!

please read the following: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_obama_health_care_overhaul

and please consider the following:

Obama sought to dispel talk that his ultimate goal is a single-payer federal health care system, like that in countries such as Canada. He also disputed the notion that adding a government-run insurance plan into a menu of options from which people could pick would drive private insurers out of business, in effect making the system single-payer by default. As long as they have a good product and the government plan has to sustain itself through premiums and other non-tax revenue, private insurers should be able to compete with the government plan, Obama said.

"They do it all the time," he said. "UPS and FedEx are doing just fine. ... It's the Post Office that's always having problems."

Gil Fronsdal: "What are we ignoring?"

Often times, we get wrapped up in "what we want". We get distracted; caused by desire or ill will. It is certainly in our best interest, maybe even healthier (physically and mentally) to open to something bigger. Maybe call it "the bigger picture". A great question to ask oneself is: what am I ignoring? It can be an increasingly difficult question to answer, however, as our ignorance may hinder our opportunity to find out- we don't want to find out. That maybe the thing we are ignoring does not fit in with the label and capactiy we have created for ourselves. So as Gil puts it, by "labeling" ourselves constantly with "verbs" or our present moment actions, we can better appreciate and enjoy our lives, which are chaotic and random and full of new experiences waiting to be had.

making it happen. letting it happen...

what are ______ that make you happy?

~ethical life; a blameless life without self doubting.
~non-busy life; where ever you are, that is the perfect place for you to be.
~humor and playfulness
~unconditional love; family is forever.
~physical exertion; the energy and flowing of the body and all its parts.
~serving others
~acceptance; you argue with reality, reality wins 100% of the time.

and to all these things, to really know it, see it, and be there is mindfulness.

Lovin' Spoonful - "Darling Be Home Soon"

What a great song. Listen to it, and you'll see what I mean. The same acoustic rift seems to play throughout the whole song, something like "G" with "C", and an ending "C", "C/B", "Am7", "G". Simple drumming and a short stroke electric guitar add to the wonderful rift. The instrumental break right in the middle of this jam with horns and the like sound excellent and explosive.

Come
And talk of all the things we did today
Here
And laugh about our funny little ways
While we have a few minutes to breathe
Then I know that it's time you must leave

(Chorus)
But darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
My darling be home soon
It's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled
For the great relief of having you to talk to

And now
A quarter of my life is almost past
I think I've come to see myself at last
And I see that the time spent confused
Was the time that I spent without you
And I feel myself in bloom

Go
And beat your crazy head against the sky
Try
And see beyond the houses and your eyes
It's ok to shoot the moon
