Gil Fronsdal: "What are we ignoring?"
Often times, we get wrapped up in "what we want". We get distracted; caused by desire or ill will. It is certainly in our best interest, maybe even healthier (physically and mentally) to open to something bigger. Maybe call it "the bigger picture". A great question to ask oneself is: what am I ignoring? It can be an increasingly difficult question to answer, however, as our ignorance may hinder our opportunity to find out- we don't want to find out. That maybe the thing we are ignoring does not fit in with the label and capactiy we have created for ourselves. So as Gil puts it, by "labeling" ourselves constantly with "verbs" or our present moment actions, we can better appreciate and enjoy our lives, which are chaotic and random and full of new experiences waiting to be had.
