ill will

anger, aversion, hostility, ire, rage, annoyance, irritation, wrath, vexation, discontent, loathing, grudge, spite, boredom, denial, avoidance, complaining, criticalness, fearfulness.

ever-prepared environment
predisposed outcomes
life in the left lane comes at you fast
sit, stop, think relaxed
smash the dash and
let go

push off this station,
of pre-occupation.

look, at the course you're on,
lost in aversion, blinded and hurting.
the remedy, for this blindness,
is simply loving kindness.

Justice to the Environment

"Every natural entity is entitled to enjoy the fullness of its own life form."

"All life forms are mutually dependent."

"Environmental Sustainabilities"
1. Natural Capital

What a majority of people focus on, and for good reason: includes energy-types, coal, wind, solar, oil, etc. as well as food.

2. Biodiversity and Stable Ecosystems
3. Value of Nature

What people tend not to focus on, these last two sustainablities. However, as the values of these three things stand now, our generation and possibly future generations will continue to use up natural resources (capital) and futher unstablize ecosystems.

This guy is really talented. He plays "In My Life" on the guitar as well as sings. Obviously, he is not John Lennon, but he makes it sound darn close to the original on "Rubber Soul".

(lyrics)
There are places I remember
All my life
though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have
their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life
I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you.
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though i know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life
I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life
I love you more

live alive

"Indirect Rule" refers to the idea of British colonialism and power over African populations late in the 19th century and early into the 20th century up until World War II. Essentially, the British, which occupied and controlled thousands of square miles of Africa and its inhabitants, laid claim to a monopolozing relationships with many different African civilizations. For centuries, foreign countries would explore and discover how rich in natural resources Africa was; they all wanted a piece. They would demand the African leader or king to follow whatever orders they were given on how to govern their people; any resistance and they would be removed and replaced by another African ruler, one who would comply. For my readers sake, I will use this analogy: The British, and other foreign powers, were the mob. They would tell Africans how they were going to do business, and if they didn't like it, they were killed.

Dolphins caught in the internet.
On a whim swim through the blue
and look down so not overwhelmed.
Remember when you were young;
you shined liked a big one far and
hard.

Float on,
go and go and re-live some more.
Do it tomorrow and soon
it will be tomorrow.
Follow and follow and make yourself hollow.

Dry and brittle you
can't stand the water.
Age is a number,
another summer
another summer.

The NFL Draft & College Basketball

This time of year is great for sports. Major League Baseball is right around the corner; personally I enjoy watching the World Baseball Classic. It's like watching the olympics, but only for baseball. The NFL Draft is about a month away, and the Lions, because they failed to win a game last year, have the #1 overall pick. They also have picks #20 and #33; god I hope they can return to being a good football team, whenever that actually was.

But the major thing right now in sports is the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. There is a lot of talk about who gets in to the tournament and who's left out, but I don't really bother with that. I'm more concerned with who is going to win it all. I think it comes down to Pittsburgh and North Carolina with the ladder of the two winning it all. But watch out for those Spartans of Michigan State. They are really inconsistant, however, if they wind up as a #2 or #3 seed, they will be the superior team in their first few rounds, and should be able to advance to at least the Elite Eight. There is a reason Tommy Izzo has gone to all those Final Fours. The official brakets are released by CBS starting at 6:00pm Sunday and I will post mine in the following days. I say CBS "starts" releasing them at 6pm because they have increasingly drawn out this process to make room for advertisements, sponsorships and commercials. God I love it and hate it all at once.

Also, if you have any interest in sports and performance enhancing drugs (i.e. steroids), please read Peter Gammons' article http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3926544&name=gammons_peter

Dreams

At a waterpark; with the normal waterpark things. A massive pool but only 3 feet deep. You walk around with people you wouldn't normally walk around with. There's no reason we are running, but you are in the middle of the pack until you see your friends go off the edge. Grasp and grab on to a tree that appears just for you. You're in shock but you're still asleep. You look over the edge, your friends and others you're not sure ever existed are falling and landing in a cove where their laughter is nice to hear. Why didn't I just follow them over?

Others are less intense, but those aren't as entertaining. I'm talking about dreams of course. I fall back asleep still at the waterpark. I am back at the pool. I look up and see parachutes and people falling. There's a tall structure that goes up into the clouds and people are gliding down and landing in the pool. This lookes quite amazing and fun.

I don't really like to think about dreams too much. Obviously, because I am writing this that, I think about them a little. But, to put simply, I think dreams have all to do with what you do when you aren't dreaming. Maybe, what you do when you're awake determines what you dream about? Not necessarily directly and one opposes the other, but that it just influences what you dream about.

Spending Habits Club Time Extravaganza

I strongly recommend the reading and viewing of the two links below. The video is well put together and easy to follow. The article is loaded with economic jargon, but offers lots of insight into an ongoing trend in production and consumption since the 1950s.
